Meet Jenny

Hi, I am a mum of autistic twin boys.

My boys are 21 years old. It has been a long journey learning about Autism. Dealing with their changing sensory needs, maintaining routines, attending therapy sessions and dealing with behaviour issues and schooling. I have a wealth of practical experience to share.

A Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and a 30 year career in the Early Childhood sector working with children living with a disability and supporting their families adds to my knowledge and experience.

While working with these families I saw parents of children on the Autism Spectrum struggle to find answers to the many questions, situations and struggles they had. Moving into the disability sector as a Support Coordinator for NDIS participants highlighted this. I see and know the lack of a safe space to ask questions about situations or incidents. Situations or incidents other parents or professionals would not understand as they don’t have lived experience of Autism.

I see so many parents struggling and I knew this membership was needed to connect and support parents. A safe space where parents can talk about the reality of parenting children with Autism without feeling judged.
